Education and Training:
AUSTLINK: Aust-Link Pty Ltd is a privately registered training provider (RTO 3569) that delivers subsidised training to eligible individuals under the Skills First Program. The aim of Aust-Link Pty Ltd is to drive the workforce development across the industry sectors including Transport and Logistics, Warehouse Operations, Resources (Mining) and Civil Infrastructure and Agribusiness. Get VET: Information to educate students and parents regarding Vocational Education and Training, VCE and VCAL studies. It supports and demonstrates how students across Victoria can explore their passion through VET, developing workplace skills and knowledge and creating flexible pathways towards future education and employment. Good Universities Guide: Helps students find courses at Australia’s top universities, TAFEs, and training colleges. La Trobe University Mildura: offers a range of courses at the Mildura Campus including Arts, Social Sciences and Communication, Business and Commerce, Education and Teaching, Health, IT and Engineering and Science. MADEC: With a focus on providing skills development training that will lead to employment, or improved employment outcomes, MADEC offers around fifty nationally accredited qualifications and courses, plus a wide variety of short courses, both classrooms based and online. Mildura Regional Trade Training Centre (MRTTC) Students from eleven cluster schools have access to programs and facilities at the MRTTC. There are two main hubs, the Riverside Trade Training Centre located at St Joseph’s College Mercy campus and the Deakin Trade Training Centre located at Mildura Senior College. Both sites provide students with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. The VETDSS (Vocational Education Training Delivered to Secondary Students) provides skills in both traditional trades and emerging industries. Monash Rural Health Mildura: is a rural training site for Medical, Nursing, and Allied Health placements located next to the Mildura Base Hospital. SuniTAFE: offers a comprehensive range of vocational courses that provides students with the skills and training they require to gain employment and progress on their career pathways. Victorian Senior Secondary Certificate Reform: Learn more about how Victoria is moving to a new integrated senior secondary certificate that will bring together the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) and the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) Victorian Skills Gateway: Find training to get the job you want by exploring the latest Victorian TAFE and training opportunities. Navigator program: The Navigator program supports disengaged young people to return to education and learning. Navigator works with young people, their families and support networks to address issues underlying disengagement and help them re-engage with their education. Navigator is delivered by contracted community service organisations, which work closely with local schools and department area teams. In each area, the program is tailored to its local community and range of services. Career Planning with your child: A helpful resource for parents and students to look at various career pathways after finishing Year 11 and Year 12.Employment:
Australian Defence Force: Find out what careers the Australian Defence Force provides Jobactive (now Workforce Australia) – Find a provider: connect with a local employment agency / provider to assist you with becoming job ready and finding the right career for you. Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN): Apprenticeship Network providers give personalised advice and support services from pre-commencement to completion to employers, trainees, and apprentices. MAS Mildura: creates and supports workforce employment, development and growth opportunities for individuals, employers and communities and provides support services to job seekers, apprentices, trainees, and employers across Australia. Apprenticeship Support Services – Mildura: Apprenticeships Support Australia is powered by the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Victoria. Get advice on accredited training packages and appropriate pathways, targeted job-matching and support for the duration of the apprenticeship, including tailored mentoring for those in need of extra guidance. SMGT: is a community-based organisation aiming to maximise local employment opportunities and the quality of training for local people in all aspects of apprenticeships and traineeships, including recruitment, mentoring, support, and training Sunraysia Regional Consulting (SRC): manages an Indigenous Employment Program funded by Australian Government that places Aboriginal jobseekers with employers in the Mildura, Sunraysia, Robinvale, Swan Hill, Balranald, and Horsham regions. Australian Apprenticeship Pathways The Australian Apprenticeships & Traineeships Information Service – information for people considering career options, employers looking at recruitment and those providing support and advice. Careers Education Association Victoria (CEAV): CEAV is a National Association with members in every state of Australia that provides career guidance, insights, and resources. Job Outlook (now Labour Market Insigts): learn about the outlook, pay, main tasks, and physical and other demands of different industries. My Future: This page features a range of information and resources for supporting career practitioners and teachers to encourage students to explore career pathways. VicLLENs Victorian Local Learning and Employment Networks (VicLLENs) is the collaboration and collective voice of Victoria’s 31 LLENs covering every corner of the state. Each is is an incorporated association governed by a volunteer board striving to improve the education, training, and employment outcomes for all young people.Additional Resources
eheadspace: provides free online and telephone support and counselling to young people aged 12 – 25 and their families and friends. MDAS: An Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people focussed organisation that runs a range of programs such as Youth support services, Early school leavers, Family Preservation Program, Stronger Families, Integrated family support and Housing Support. Year13: connects students to all the options available after high school and beyond with career and life advice. Youth Central: Website for young people aged 12-25 that provides information about life in general.
