NMLLEN Career Events
Northern Mallee LLEN networks with schools and businesses to provide young people access to meaningful engagements with the employment market to give them the confidence and capacity to make informed choices about their career aspirations.
NMLLEN takes the lead in organising a variety of career events. These events serve as windows into a diverse array of career pathways spanning across various industries. By facilitating these experiences, NMLLEN strives to inspire and guide students, providing them with insights that go beyond traditional classroom learning.
Through these interactions, young minds can explore their interests, discover potential career paths, and ultimately embark on a journey towards fulfilling and purposeful futures.
Allied Health Come and Try Day:
The Allied Health Come and Try Day took place on May 15, 2023, attracting 120 students from diverse schools eager to delve into the dynamic realm of Allied Health. This marked the second consecutive year of hosting the Allied Health event, following its inaugural edition in 2022.
The students had the chance to rotate through ten different stations, each offering unique activities and insights into the diverse field of allied health. The stations included:
• Occupational and Hand Therapy
• Radiography and Sonography
• Optometry
• Speech Pathology
• Dentistry Hygiene
• Podiatry
• Pharmacy
• Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology
• Dietitian
• Allied Health Assistant

World of Engineering- Come and Try Day
Northern Mallee LLEN organised the “World of Engineering- Come and Try Day” on May 30th, 2023 at Mildura Sporting Precinct to inspire future Engineers.
Students were guided by industry professionals and explored diverse engineering domains. The impressive lineup included Design, CAD/IT, Pharmaceutical, Planning, Mechanical, Aero (Aviation), Structural, Civil, and Electrical Engineers.
The quiz table added a competitive twist to the day as students tested their engineering knowledge.
This event was a memorable and enriching experience, thanks to passionate experts. Their dedication has inspired our students to pursue engineering careers.

Social Welfare – Come Learn About Me
Northern Mallee LLEN organised “Social Welfare – Come Learn About Me” on Tuesday, July 25th, 2023 targeting Year 9-12 students in a collaborative effort with local community organisations and government bodies.
This event united 68 eager students and 15 dedicated school staff featured 10 guest speakers who shared their inspiring career journeys and insights into the world of community services and social welfare. The students actively engaged, bombarding the speakers with diverse questions during the session.
