A night of celebrating partnerships

13th August 2012

NMLLEN held its 10th Year Anniversary Dinner at the Mildura Working Man’s Club on Friday 10th August. The purpose of the dinner was to celebrate NMLLEN’s partnerships with stakeholders to improve outcomes from young people aged 10-19 years old in the Northern Mallee Region. Education Community Sign Up to Learn About Local Youth Mental Health Issues

Mental health problems affect 14% of children and adolescents in Australia.

The local Education community have been invited to a Youth Mental Health Session on Thursday 3rd May to learn about key youth mental health issues, and the resources that are available that can help them address mental health issues in the classroom. The role of teachers and education staff in the lives of young people suffering from mental health issues cannot be underestimated. MORE

 

Research Shows Regional Students Remain Disadvantaged

Students in the NMLLEN region are still struggling to afford a university education.The newly released Deferring a University Offer in Victoria report shows that 55.2 per cent of rural and regional students defer their higher education because of financial barriers. MORE

NMLLEN Chair Reflects on the 2012 AGM

23rd March 2012

NMLLEN outlined its achievements throughout 2011 at its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday night including the progress of the Mildura Region Trade Training Centre, Youth Partnerships, Unlocking Sunraysia’s Potential, the creation of over 140 workplace learning opportunities, linking the Industry Workforce Development Strategy with schools, and creating pathways for young parents back into education and training. NMLLEN celebrates successful WLP initiative to create 50 SBAT’s in five months

On Thursday 23rd February, NMLLEN are hosting a Networking Breakfast at The Office to celebrate NMLLEN’s Workplace Learning Program’s successful project to create 50 School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBAT’s) across north western Victoria.
